The Drosinal® trap is designed to monitor the flight of the Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD) – Drosophila suzukii in places of its potential habitation. It is used at plantations of soft fruit, where the pest poses a very high threat.
Drosinal® may also be used to mass trapping of SWD , as a method of limitation of the population size.
The luring liquid is a combination of different food ingredients. It does not contain any pesticides or pheromones. It has particularly high properties of luring Spotted Wing Drosophila. A characteristic feature of the liquid is its very low surface tension. Thanks to that, once insects touch the liquid, they drown immediately, being unable to fly away.
The shape and colours of the trap enhance its performance and Drosophila luring capacity. The mesh in entering holes determines partial selectivity of the trap – insects larger than Drosophila suzukii are not caught.
The trap has a very solid structure. It may be used even for a few seasons.
The Drosinal® luring liquid is available in 1 L bottles or 5 L cans. It is used to gradually fill the trap during the monitoring.
